Kaimai Cheese

Just north of Matamata, covering 1480m² of prime country land stands the truly breath taking Kaimai Cheese building. Designed as a replica of a historic 1920’s New Zealand Butter Factory, the building operates as a unique specialist cheese making facility, retail outlet and public café. In fulfilling the client’s dream of authenticity, the trusses and roof vents from the original butter factory were cleverly incorporated into the design. Livingstone worked closely with the client to turn their dreams into a reality.
