Livingstone Building NZ Ltd is seeking a commercially astute Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and lead our financial strategy as we embark on an ambitious five-year growth journey.

Based at our Hamilton head office, this is a pivotal role for a proven financial leader who thrives in a dynamic, project-driven environment and is ready to shape the future of a proudly New Zealand-owned construction company.

The Role
As CFO, you'll be responsible for strategic financial planning, governance, reporting, and risk management. You'll work closely with the CEO, Board, and ELT to ensure our financial health supports our growth ambitions. You'll lead the Finance and IT teams, oversee budgeting and forecasting, and drive performance improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead financial strategy, planning, and forecasting to support Livingstone's growth
  • Oversee financial operations, reporting, treasury, and compliance
  • Present financial results and insights to the Board and shareholders
  • Manage financial risk, governance, and internal controls
  • Champion ERP and systems improvements (e.g. Jobpac, AI)
  • Collaborate with other executives on commercial, operational, and strategic initiatives
  • Lead and develop high-performing Finance and IT teams
What you'll bring

Mandatory:
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • 10+ years in senior financial leadership roles
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Strong governance, board engagement, and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking
Preferred:
  • Experience in construction or project-based industries
  • ERP implementation or systems transformation experience
  • Exposure to capital raising, M&A, or business scaling initiatives
