QS Cadetships

 

At Livingstone we encourage those who are interested in Quantity Surveying to become involved in our Quantity Surveyor Cadetship programme.

Livingstone take on a number of cadets, enabling them valuable and practical onsite experience during their Tertiary studies. We sponsor and mentor students throughout their development and encourage them to move through their training and into our Junior Quantity Surveying team.

As a Quantity Surveyor you will learn and be responsible for preparing trade packages; letting and reviewing contracts and quotations; analysing tenders and valuations; preparing costings and reports; attending site meetings and reporting information to site teams/subcontractors and completing contracts and agreements.

QS Cadet Profile

At Livingstone we believe in celebrating our employess contribution to the business. Here we spotlight a team member who displays the qualities of an excellent construction professional and a Livingstone employee.

Kate Stapleton

Starting off as the Quantity Surveyor Coordinator in 2011, Kate learnt the contract admin side of the quantity surveying department before moving into her cadetship a year later.

Kate attends Polytechnic classes weekly in between working in the office full time assisting senior quantity surveyors on intermediate level projects.

In 2013, Kate was offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to be the QS assist on the 26 million dollar Home of Cycling Avantidrome project. This role has given Kate a range of skills and knowledge that many people would not get in their lifetime. Kate continues to study towards her Diploma of Quantity Surveying and hopes to work her way up as an intermediate quantity surveyor within our team.
