Project Managers - Waikato

The Role:
As a Project Manager you will be responsible for project management of multiple commercial construction ensuring our projects are built safely, on time, within budget and to our high standards. The ideal candidate will enjoy job variation, leading others, reporting and come with strong commercial experience.

Responsibilities:
Read and interpret plans and specifications as well as compile reports and resource consents using Microsoft Projects and a variety of other industry software packages
Identify and manage project risks as well as control project budgets, tracking variations, planning and monitoring of QA & QC
Develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including; participation of tender submissions and presentations, managing client expectations, working collaboratively with project teams and chairing project meetings
Manage a team by demonstrating professional leadership; assisting with recruitment, managing performance reviews,
The successful candidate will have:

Tertiary qualifications relevant to Project Management
Full Drivers Licence
Experience working on a variety of commercial construction projects
Advanced Excel and familiar with Microsoft Project preferred
Excellent communication and planning skills

Quantity Surveyor - Intermediate in Te Awamutu

We have a new opportunity that is best suited to an intermediate QS who prefers job variation, running smaller projects concurrently for a broad portfolio of clients. The role involves key account management on a variety of commercial, industrial and residential projects as well as maintenance contracts across the greater Waikato region.
For the right candidate we are offering flexible working arrangements including hours and location (Hamilton or Te Awamutu office)
Responsibilities:
• Measure quantities and price labour, materials, plant and subcontractors to establish estimates, costings, planning, programming and design and construction management for key clients where required
• Contribute to the compilation and submission of tenders and carry out thorough cost analysis in post tender stage
• Carryout contract administration
• Control job costs (monthly reports) and accurate monthly claims to client and subcontract payment and reconciliations
• Source materials at competitive rates and be the liaison with all internal and external stakeholders to distribute relevant project information
• Set and monitor KPIs for designated projects (plan, coordinate, monitor, review, manage, report) as appropriate
• Research new project opportunities and ensure leads are followed up
• Assist in presenting feasibility reports and budget estimates to clients as required
• Maintain highest possible levels of service in line with supplier availability and client need

Selection Criteria:
• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to read, interpret and develop statistical reports and calculations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in MSProject, CostCon and CostX
• Knowledge of CCA 2002 and Amendment Act and relevant construction contracts (NZIA General Conditions of Contract, NZS3910 General Conditions of Contract
• Good organisational and prioritisation skills

Site Manager - Te Awamutu

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join us in Te Awamutu on a variety of small to mid-size projects.

The Role:
As a Site Manager you will be responsible for organising all day to day activities on site ensuring our projects are built safely, on time, within budget and to our high standards. The ideal candidate will enjoy job variation; being on the tools, leading others, reporting and come with strong commercial experience.

Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, reports, and resource consents using Microsoft Projects
• Lead and manage staff and subcontractors through building team morale, being involved with performance reviews, problem solving and conducting team meetings and tools box talks
• Manage site health and safety functions including the delivery of site inductions, health and safety reporting, inspections, meetings and improvement plans.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of clients and subcontractors
• Assist with the estimating and quoting of jobs, as well as calculate variations and project scope
• Construct or erect foundations, concrete, framework, cladding and lining as well as keeping up with new construction techniques and the installations of materials

The successful candidate will have:
• Experience working on a variety of commercial projects
• Excellent communication and planning skills
• Ability to foresee and identify risks and have excellent time managements skills
• Trade carpentry qualification
• 5 years’ experience in a hands-on carpentry position
• 2 years’ experience as a site manager
• Full Drivers Licence
• Willingness to travel and stay away
