Spend your summer based in Devonport, working on a high-profile New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) project where robust safety systems, discipline, and accountability truly matter.
 
This is a 15-week fixed-term role, ideally commencing 23rd February 2026, supporting a live NZDF construction environment operating under CHESS (Co-ordinated Health & Safety System) and strict defence governance requirements.
 
You'll take the lead on site, providing confident, practical HSW advice while ensuring compliance with NZDF, CHESS, and legislative requirements.
 
About the role
You'll be working closely with project team, subcontractors, and defence stakeholders to:
  • Support risk management, permit systems, task planning, site inspections, and the review and management of HSW documentation.
  • Maintain CHESS aligned HSW systems and documentation.
  • Influence safe behaviours and uphold strong safety culture in a high compliance setting.
  • Provide clear, professional advice aligned with NZDF standards and expectations.
